November’s Featured Mix-Master
Russel put together a few custom Tito’s Vodka creations for the holidays. First up is a new twist on an old standard, called ‘The Handcrafted Egg Nog Martini’ followed by the sweet and spicy ‘Sugar and Spice Martini’ and last but not least, a warm chocolate concoction sure to keep your spirits high and your body warm.
Russell Davis is among the top mix-masters in Texas. He is Bar Manager at Peche, Austin’s own purveyor of classic cocktails, where he has developed many of their highly acclaimed libations. He has written numerous drink recipes for various national and international liquor brands. Russell is the current President of the Austin chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild.

The Handcrafted EggNog Martini
1 1/2 oz of Tito’s Handmade Vodka
1/4 oz of St. Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram
1 whole egg
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 drop of vanilla extract
1/2 oz of heavy cream
Combine all ingredients into a shaker and shake vigorously for 20 seconds.
Strain into a chilled martini glass and top with grated nutmeg.
Tito’s Sugar and Spice Martini
1 1/2 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
1/8 oz St. Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram
2 1/2 oz 100% Apple Juice
1/4 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
1/4 inch Jalapeno Slice
Take Jalapeno slice and muddle/smash it once into the bottom of mixing glass. Combine the rest of the ingredients into the mixing glass and shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and place a quarter of an apple slice on the rim. The photo features this cocktail over Glace Luxury Ice.
Texan Hot Chocolate
1 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
1/2 oz Paula’s Texas Orange Liqueur
1/3 cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2-1 teaspoon Sugar to taste
8 oz Whole Milk
A Fresh Orange
Combine Paula’s Texas Orange, chocolate chips, sugar and milk in a pot and bring to a slow boil over low-medium heat as to not burn the Milk. Remove from heat and add Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Pour into favorite coffee/cocoa/tea mug and top with marshmallows. Garnish with an orange twist and shaved/grated chocolate
