DIY Coffee Liqueur
Straight from the Tito’s Test Kitchen (a.k.a. our office kitchen), this infusion will wake you right up! After one batch, our delicious homemade Coffee Liqueur is a sure to become a home bar cart staple in no time.
The recipe yields quite a large batch, with enough to give away as gifts and to keep some for yourself, too. We’re dreaming about White Russians, spiked coffee, adult frappes, ice cream floats, and boozy baking!
Wake up with this delicious infusion using your favorite coffee beans. Our recipe can be enjoyed over ice, in an adult shake, or added as a kick to your morning cup of joe.
12 cups water
1 lb ground coffee beans
5 cups brown or white sugar
2 whole vanilla beans
2 tsp real vanilla extract
Bring 8 cups of water to a boil, then add your favorite freshly ground coffee.
Boil 3–4 minutes and add in split open the vanilla beans.
Remove from heat and let the coffee continue to brew overnight.
While the coffee is doing it’s thing, add the remaining 4 cups of water and sugar to another pot.
Let boil for about 10 minutes until sugar mixture becomes syrupy.
Let syrup cool and store in refrigerator overnight.
Strain coffee grounds through cheese cloth, removing as much grit as possible.
Combine Tito’s Handmade Vodka, strained coffee and syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Your coffee liqueur is now ready to enjoy. However, keep in mind the flavors get better over time, precisely 1-2 months should do the trick!
