Where can I find Tito’s Handmade Vodka?
Click on ‘Find Tito’s’ up top. You can search by state, then city, and even narrow it down by zipcode and you’ll get a list of some great stores in your area where you can find us.
How do I get a bar or liquor store to carry Tito’s?
Visit our Find Tito’s page. Once you get there, choose your state from the drop down list. If your favorite liquor store or watering hole doesn’t carry Tito’s Handmade Vodka, ask them to! Remember their name so you can ask for them next time you go in to thank them, or give them grief for not having it yet! If you tell 20 of your closest friends, we’ll just keep this thing rolling. Thanks for doing this for me. I really appreciate it.
How is Tito’s Handmade Vodka gluten-free?
Tito’s Handmade Vodka is made from 100% corn and as a distilled spirit, is completely gluten-free. Some producers add a little bit of mash back into the spirit after distillation, which would add gluten content into an otherwise gluten-free distillate (if using wheat as the base), but I don’t do that regardless. It’s an important thing for us, and we actually include “GLUTEN-FREE” in lots of our materials and on the website so people can make informed choices. But, I am a vodka man, not a doctor, so if you have more questions or concerns, you should definitely talk to your doctor about it!
How did you get in the vodka business?
My uncle taught me how to flavor vodka and I used to give it away as Christmas presents to friends. They talked me into trying to sell it and then the liquor stores talked me into making a smooth sipping vodka.
How long have you been in business?
I bought some land and incorporated in the beginning of 1995. It took me a long time to get a permit and try to make some great stuff. I finally sold my first case in April of 1997.
How many times is Tito’s Handmade Vodka distilled?
6 times. Any more robs the taste. Any less and there are still impurities.
What proof is Tito’s Handmade Vodka?
40% alcohol by volume (80 proof)
Do you make a special reserve?
No, the Tito’s you buy is the same that I drink, and that my family and friends drink. It’s all special reserve. I have never changed the recipe.
Do you make any flavors?
I try to do one thing and do it really well, so I put all my energy into making the very best vodka out there. But, if you like flavors in your vodka, I really encourage you to make them yourself at home or in your bar. There’s nothing better than infusing really fresh local ingredients to make your own custom blend, and it’s really easy. Click here to see a few videos on how to infuse with some of my favorite recipes.
How did you learn how to distill?
I am self taught.
Is it legal to distill at home?
No. You can make beer and wine at home but liquor is regulated by the feds and they don’t let you do it at home. Also, distilling is like boiling gasoline. People catch themselves and their abodes on fire and blow stuff up if they don’t do it right.
What is the best vodka in the world?
That is up to you. I think Tito’s is the cleanest and smoothest and it still has a lot of body to it.
Can I order it direct?
We cannot sell or ship direct. At the end of prohibition, Congress made it to where distilled spirits had to go through a wholesaler who is different from the distiller. The wholesaler then sells it to a liquor store. (In Texas, the liquor store with a class B wholesaler permit sells it to a bar or restaurant.)
Is it sold on the Internet?
Yes, we don’t have anything to do with it but if you type in Internet wines spirits etc in a search engine you’ll find someone. They are the only ones who can legally ship spirits around the country.
Can I invest in Tito’s Vodka?
Nope. I am the sole proprietor of the company and have no plans to go public.
Where do you get your corn?
I tried to get all the corn from Texas but the coops only sell on the futures market. The corn I use is all American, the bulk of which comes from the grain belt in the Midwest.
Do you sell overseas?
Yes, we do! If you're an overseas retailer, click here to see our international distributor list.
Do you support charities?
Yes, we do as much as we are able to by donating product. If you have a 501(c)3 and would like to make a request, please email us at events@titosvodka.com. If you don’t hear back from us, we are not able to help out.
Do you sponsor personal parties or weddings?
No, we are not able to do that, but I would really appreciate the support if you choose to buy Tito’s to serve at your event!
Do you sponsor bands or tours?
We are so passionate about music and of course Tito’s is handmade right here in the music capital of the world! We do everything we can to support music and the arts by getting involved in festivals and the music scene in general. But, we can’t sponsor individual bands or artists since we just can’t pick our favorites – there are too many.
What does Tito’s cost?
It is different everywhere but generally it is about at the middle of the category. I want to try to keep the price where all my friends can afford it. You can pay twice as much for vodka but it won’t be as good.
Why don’t you put it in a nicer bottle?
If I put it in a frosted, painted, see through bottle then I would have to charge more. I would rather put my money into the actual juice rather than have people pay more for the bottle.
Are you a big company?
Counting me, there are around 50 of us.
Are you looking to hire?
Not at this time. We are a small family. We are pretty streamlined and have all the positions filled at the moment.
Who does your marketing/pr?
We do it ourselves in house. It’s going to stay that way for the foreseeable future and we are not interested in bringing on outside agencies.
Do you advertise?
We are mostly a word of mouth brand but do a little radio and print here and there.
Do you give tours?
We used to before we had insurance. Now our insurance company doesn't allow it, but you can click here and see a virtual tour we add on to frequently.
How can I help?
Just spread the word. Tell 20 of your closest friends. Click on the Find Tito’s link and find out who distributes it in your state and ask bar managers and liquor store managers for it. Take it to a party. Serve it at your favorite charity event. Sign up to be a Tito’s Taster so you can find out about all the fun stuff we are doing out there. Be our friend on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Anything you like! And I thank you in advance. I really appreciate it.
